Description of the assignment
Freyssinet Australia are seeking the services of a highly qualified, competent and experienced Coatings (Blast & Paint) Supervisor to take charge of the painting and blasting on one of our major projects in NSW.
Profile
Reporting to the NSW Operations Manager, this position is based in our remedial business and focuses on leading a team for the blast and paint on a large high rise building project in Sydney CBD.
Primary accountabilities:
- Develop and implement QSE plans, work procedures and SWMS with the Project Engineer
- Plan and organise site labour, plant, equipment and materials to suit program and budget
- Train site labour and ensure adherence to issues of safety, quality and the environment
- Conduct and document safety pre-starts and inspections at required frequency as tabulated below
- Manage safety incidences immediately in conjunction with the Project Engineer and Safety Coordinator to supervise site works through regular site inspections.
- Monitor site productivities against budget and optimise methods for improvement
- Report weekly timesheets for labour
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated prior experience in a Team Leader/Supervisor role
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the paint & blasting industry
- Minimum 3 years' post trade experience with structural steel blast and paint
- Hold a current relevant qualification in coating inspection recognized by ACA such as NACE CIP Inspection (or similar)
- OR hold a relevant trade qualification with previous supervisory
- experience in the mining or maintenance industry
- Previously managed self performing teams and subcontractors
- Hold a working at heights cert, and previous experience supervising WAH - Beneficial
- White Card/ Construction Card - Mandatory
Competencies:
- Conversant with Office 365 Suite – MS Excel , MS Word, SharePoint & Outlook
- Results driven attitude
- Ability to demonstrate planning and coordinating skills with the capability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong attention to details
- Strong communication skills at every level
