Description de la mission

Construction Manager

What you will do:

You will oversee the safe and efficient delivery of all construction activities on major projects, ensuring work is executed in compliance with contractual, technical, budgetary, and regulatory requirements. You will lead construction planning, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, manage resources, and contribute to project strategy and performance. You will act as a key interface between engineering, planning, procurement, site teams, and the client, ensuring alignment of objectives and smooth project execution.

 

Concretely, your tasks will be:

Project & Construction Management

Lead and organize all construction activities, ensuring alignment with project execution methods, objectives, and quality standards.

Define work methods, resource needs (staff, equipment, materials), and construction sequences in coordination with the Project Manager.

Supervise subcontractor activities, review their work plans, and validate major decisions related to methods, resources, equipment, and schedules.

Prepare and maintain construction budgets, monitor costs, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.

Develop and update project schedules, including 3‑month lookahead plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of construction milestones.

 

Health, Safety, Quality & Environment

Ensure compliance with all HSE requirements and enforce safety procedures; intervene when unsafe conditions or activities are identified.

Approve risk assessments and Work Method Statements; ensure site teams follow project quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Oversee quality control, inspections, non‑conformance management, and corrective actions to maintain work quality and traceability.

Support environmental compliance and proper handling of hazardous materials, waste, and temporary works.

 

Coordination & Communication

Lead internal weekly production meetings and subcontractor coordination meetings; validate minutes and action plans.

Coordinate with engineering, planning, procurement, survey, and other support departments for timely document and resource delivery.

Maintain strong relationships with clients, authorities, suppliers, and third parties involved in interfaces or permit processes.

Support project reporting, progress documentation, KPIs, and inputs to leadership and stakeholders.

 

Resources & Workforce Management

Define staffing needs, participate in recruitment of senior site staff, and oversee workforce allocation.

Supervise and mentor site teams, ensuring training, onboarding, and continuous improvement practices are implemented.

Ensure all personnel are properly informed, equipped, and aligned with project objectives, policies, and safety expectations.

Profil

Your skills:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or another relevant technical discipline.
  • 12+ years in large-scale construction projects, including supervision of multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong command of construction planning, budgeting, methods, and field execution.
  • Solid knowledge of HSE requirements, quality processes, and project control practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, decision‑making capacity, and ability to manage fast‑paced, complex construction environments.
  • Proficiency with construction management tools, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and adapt to evolving project conditions.

The headquarter of VINCI Construction Grands Projets Canada is based in Montréal, Québec. We are currently involved in two major construction projects in Ontario valued at several billion Canadian dollars.


    The construction of the subway line south in Toronto, involving a six-kilometer tunnel and associated excavation work. The project includes the design, construction, and handover of all tunnels (twin tubes of 6 km each), 7 stations (turnkey for: 1 at-grade station and 6 underground stations) and civil engineering works.
