Description of the assignment

Senior Mechanical Engineer

 

Location: Based at Birchwood Park, Warrington or Whitehaven, Cumbria.

 

Travel – Occasional site visit to Cumbria required.

 

Hybrid working – Minimum of 3 days a week in the office per week.

 

Arrangement – Contracted (Inside IR35) 

 

Salary – Dependent on experience.

BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferrable.

 

Supporting one of our key clients we are looking for Senior Mechanical Engineers to support the sites pipework project of a nuclear licensed site. This will involve providing mechanical assistance and managing activities so that processes are properly, adequately, and efficiently implemented across the project.

Profile

Responsibilities of a Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Responsible for the Engineering Quality of the project delivery, ensuring compliance with client specifications and engineering standards.
  • Compiling reports to the relevant engineers to ensure scope changes, time and cost constrains are managed.
  • Overseeing conceptual designs, design schemes, detail drawings and associated design documentation.
  • Project and multi-discipline liaison to ensure production of coordinated, fit for purpose design solution.
  • Participation in site surveys.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant SL Engineering Standards.
  • Participate in design reviews and organise such reviews.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality of security data and information received from clients.
  • Supervision of designers in production of design deliverables.
  • Ensuring Health and Safety requirements are met.

 

Qualifications and Experience required for a Senior Mechanical Engineer:

 

To be considered for this role as a Senior Mechanical Engineer you should have most of the following:

 

Essential:

  • Experience in working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required to have worked in a SL working practice.
  • Familiar with ASME B31.3 piping design code.
  • Experience in brownfield piping design and production of piping fabrication drawings.

Experience in the use of the below software:

  • Revit
  • AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with SL systems
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Replicon timesheet user.

 

Desired for a Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Ideally the candidate needs to be plastics / piping / drainage biased.
  • Can demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of using SharePoint software.
