Description of the assignment
The objective of the position of Project Manager at Menard Canada is to manage and coordinate ground improvement projects, mainly standard to moderately complex, from feasibility study to final delivery, ensuring compliance with costs, deadlines and quality requirements.
Project Management and Planning
- Review tender documents
- Carry out feasibility studies and budgets
- Carry out price requests and develop estimates
- Prepare service offers and ensure customer follow-ups
- Develop work programmes, implementation plans and timelines
- Participate in project coordination meetings
- Coordinate proposal preparation and support preconstruction activities
- Review project opportunities, risks and execution strategies during the bidding phase
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals
Coordination of operations and resources
- Ensure the provision of personnel, equipment and materials, in collaboration with the relevant managers
- Coordinate stakeholders (site, suppliers, subcontractors, internal teams)
- Ensure smooth communication between stakeholders
- Foster proactive collaboration between teams
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and industry partners
- Participate in client meetings and support business unit growth initiatives
Site monitoring and execution
- Participate in site start-up meetings
- Preparing and handing over the construction binder
- Communicate to the foreman the information necessary for the execution of the work
- Carry out site visits and inspections
- Ensure the monitoring of the work and its compliance with plans and programs
Quality, Technique and Compliance
- Ensure that technical, commercial and environmental data are complete and taken into account
- Participate in risk analysis and the preparation of OHS programs
- Ensure compliance with the quality plan and technical requirements
- Monitor the performance of tests and interpret the results in collaboration with the technical teams
Financial and contractual management
- Ensure the follow-up and control of invoicing (customer, suppliers, subcontractors)
- Contribute to the respect of budgets and the financial performance of the project
Project Close-Out
- Write final reports
- Ensure completion of end-of-work procedures
- Coordinate with the technical and administrative teams for the closure of files
Autonomy and decision-making
- Ensure the autonomous management of projects under his/her responsibility
- Identify issues and make day-to-day operational decisions
- Escalate complex or risky situations to the operations manager
Profile
Knowledge
- Knowledge of geotechnical and soil improvement
- Good understanding of feasibility studies and technical principles in geotechnical engineering
- Ability to prepare tender documents according to standards and regulations
- Competence in cost estimation and budget management
- Proficiency in specialized computer tools (calculation software, project management, etc.
- Be aware of occupational health and safety laws, standards and regulations

Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related engineering discipline
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation (Asset)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in Pile Driving, General Contracting, Heavy Civil construction or Geotechnical/Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
