Description of the assignment
Menard Oceania is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer to join our team — someone with a strong passion for delivering practical, construction-focused design solutions from the contractor’s perspective rather than the traditional consultancy approach.
This is a unique opportunity for a geotechnical engineer with a keen interest in ground improvement design, who thrives in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment and aspires to become a leading expert in this field.
Responsibilities:
Lead or support the design of ground improvement systems on complex ground conditions
Interpreting ground conditions and developing ground model parameters.
Assisting in development of drawings for ground improvement solutions
Working with the team to deliver ground improvement design projects (i.e. project deliverables such as drawings and reports) in a timely manner.
Preparation of design reports
Self-checking written communications and reports.
Assisting site and project engineers in the interpretation of design models.
Profile
Your experience & skills:
Between 4 – 8 years geotechnical engineering design experience
Significant demonstrated experience in managing preliminary design, conceptual and detailed designs. Delivering to tight deadlines.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Construction Engineers and Business Development Engineers.
Solid and proven understanding and working knowledge of Geotechnical Ground improvement techniques including but not limited to CMC, Jet Grouting, Anchoring, Stone Columns, Vibro Compaction, Deep Soil Mixing, Slurry Walls, Dynamic Compaction, Dynamic Replacement, Consolidation & Permeation Grouting.
Sound experience utilising industry standard software for geotechnical design such as PLAXIS and SLOPE-W
