Description of the assignment

Position – Technical Lead

 

Location – Aztec West, Bristol

 

Hybrid working – Required in the office 3 days per week and 2 days remote

 

Arrangement – Staffed only

 

Salary – Up to £53,000 DOE

BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferrable.

 

As the Technical Lead you will provide technical oversite of the contract(s), including the surveillance of the technical documentations, the management and the resolution of the open-points and changes related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification. As the Technical lead you will also be responsible for keeping the contract and configuration compliant with the project progress.

Profile

Description of the expected service –

 

  • Leading technical meetings
  • Surveillance of technical documents and drawings from contractor
  • Technical surveillance and resolution of issues/queries
  • Review, approve and design where necessary
  • Review of non-conformances and exemptions requests, open points and design changes
  • Control and management of the evolution of the contract and design changes
  • Review and approval of contract amendments and exemptions
  • Liase with client team to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions and systems.
  • Liase with client management teams to communicate progress, risks, issues and planning to support contract delivery
  • Ensure qualification activities re progressing accordingly to the contract progress and site needs
  • Help to upskill other members of the tea, including other less experienced.

 

 

Required technical skills for a Technical lead –

 

  • Strong knowledge and experience on valves
  • Technical background on mechanical, piping and layout
  • Understanding of equipment interfaces (safety case and systems engineering) and qualification
  • Strong communications skills
  • Contract management and documentary surveillance
  • Experience using change-management, commercial and deliverable management systems (UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcentre) is advantageous
  • IT literate
  • French speaking would be advantageous
  • Masters degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline
