Join us on one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects – Sizewell C. The Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) plays a vital role in preparing the ground for construction, using advanced techniques such as piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and grouting. This is your opportunity to be part of a collaborative team delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality results.

Bachy Soletanche Ltd are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor, to join their Ipswich-based HR team, on one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the UK.

Working as part of our Projects division, the HR Advisor will be a key point of contact for all employees and stakeholders on a joint venture project, with an overall project value of around £600 million, and a headcount of around 900 employees.

Profile

About the role

The HR Advisor will be the first point of contact for all HR queries, and provide comprehensive generalist HR advisory and support, with duties including:

  • Full cycle management of Employee Relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, sickness absence, performance improvement and restructuring activity.
  • Provide accurate, timely advice to managers and coach them on people management best practice.
  • Arrange and coordinate Occupational Health referrals, maintain accurate documentation, update HR systems and liaise with employees and managers to monitor absence and support return‑to‑work plans.
  • Support end‑to‑end recruitment, including coordinating hiring activity, advising managers, implementing Skills, Education and EDI recruitment and retention initiatives, and ensuring compliance for sponsored workers under UK employment law.
  • Work closely with the Training and Competency team to identify employee training needs and support Learning & Development and early careers initiatives.
  • Produce HR metrics, data and trend analysis to support decision‑making and reporting requirements, including client KPIs for SEE, EDI and community engagement.
  • Assist with HR projects such as salary and bonus reviews, organisational change and employee communications.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team as required and complete any other reasonable tasks to support the wider HR function.
     

What We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be CIPD Level 5 qualified or hold extensive stand-alone generalist ER/HR experience.
  • Have hands-on experience of managing and conducting Employee Relations meetings. 
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly establish and maintain strong relationships across all levels.
  • Have excellent organisational and planning skills to help ensure the delivery of a fast-paced HR service.
  • Have up to date knowledge of employment law and best practice.
  • Be fully proficient with all Microsoft office packages, including extracting and analysing data.
     

It would be a bonus if you have experience in:

  • Construction/joint ventures/complex projects.
  • Work Visas, immigration and vetting.
