The Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) at Sizewell C is seeking a proactive, people‑focused Deputy Plant Manager to join our high‑performing team working at the cutting edge of geotechnical engineering.
This is an exciting opportunity to help manage a large, diverse fleet of specialist plant and equipment—hydrofraises, piling rigs, soil‑mixing plants, diaphragm walling tools, and more—all essential to building the foundations of the new nuclear power station.
About the role:
As Deputy Plant Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our plant operations run like clockwork, supporting both day‑to‑day activity and long‑term project delivery. You will:
- Lead and support the Plant Yard Team, fostering a positive, safety‑first culture
- Oversee mobilisation and demobilisation of plant across multiple sites
- Manage plant availability, utilisation and reporting, ensuring assets meet project standards
- Collaborate with Fitters, Welders, Mechanics and Site Teams to plan maintenance and ensure resources meet production needs
- Keep the Asset Register accurate and up to date
- Coordinate plant movements with Logistics
- Source external plant when needed and evaluate repair options
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in operations
- Support recruitment, staff development, and the PDR process
- Ensure compliance, standards and procedures are consistently upheld
