Description of the assignment
You will design and detail temporary works for our running site in collaboration with our drafting team and under the supervision of our senior structural designers. You will provide technical assistance to running site and be also involve in the design of repair/strengthening solutions and associated temporary works.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Design and detail temporary works, including bespoke tools.
· Design and detail repair/strengthening solutions.
· Design construction methods.
· Perform design risk analyses.
· Liaise with Checkers and other Engineers.
· Assist Company Estimators with technical aspects of tenders.
· Ensure designs are safe and economically optimised.
Profile
An exciting opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking Junior Structural Design Engineer to join our growing Technical Division. You will be based in our London office and with the opportunity to visit live projects and external clients.
You will have the opportunity to bring your creativity and innovative design ideas to an environment where you will be encouraged, supported and challenged to work with an organisation that is focused on being the leader in its field.
You will have the opportunity to visit our running sites, see your solutions becoming real, contribute to the whole project delivery process (planning, procurement, installation).
Knowledge and Experience
· A Bachelor or Master’s (preferable) Degree in Structural Civil Engineering
· Confidence in structural engineer principles and capability to carry out manual calculations.
· Proven experience in designing steel and reinforced concrete structures and temporary works.
· Good working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
· CAD software required knowledge: Autocad (Solidworks is a plus)
· Engineering software knowledge like IDEA StatiCa and SAP2000 is a plus.
