Description of the assignment

Freyssinet Australia is offering a unique opportunity for an exceptionally skilled and experienced Corrosion Engineer to join our Remedial Engineering Services business unit in Melbourne. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting projects in VIC across Corrosion/Durability/Coatings/Condition Assessments.

 

As a Corrosion Engineer for the VIC Remedial Engineering Services Team, you will be involved in the planning and delivery of complex asset assessments and remedial designs. You will also focus on specialist repair activities in the areas of cathodic protection and concrete-repair of existing structures.

 

You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about all things remedial and strive to deliver innovative solutions and successful outcomes for Freyssinet clients. 

Profile

Primary accountabilities:

Assess and create detailed condition reports
Provide technical advice with problem-solving skills
Preparation of QSE documents
Installation, commissioning, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of cathodic protection systems on a variety of assets such as pipelines, tanks, reservoirs, wharves, bridges.
Business development, preparing tenders and resourcing.
There will be a requirement for typically short-term travel to sites to fulfill project requirements. 
 

Qualifications:

Construction Industry Induction Card
Corrosion Technician with Australian Corrosion Association Accreditation
Degree in Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent
 

Skills & Experience:

Experience with or exposure to Cathodic Protection
Experience with or exposure to NACE/ACA Corrosion Standards
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field.
