To keep ensuring BA Blacktop's financial success, we are looking for a Cost Controller V.I.E.  F/M who will be excited to work on projects varying from financial reporting to cost control and financial risk management.

What you can expect as a Cost Controller @BAB ?

As part of the BA Blacktop teams, based in Edmonton (AB), and in close cooperation with BA Blacktop’s CFO, you will play a key role in managing the company’s financial and accounting operations.

Get ready to: 

  • Track Projects and Overhead costs
  • Prepare and establishing budget forecasts (budget and adjustments)
  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly closings
  • Ensure compliance with the budget of and accountability expenditures
  • Analyze cost variation if necessary and ensuring an alert role on any deviations and analyzing the impacts
  • Monitor cash and forecast cash flow
  • Monitor and analyze key expenditure items
  • Carry out monthly reporting (backlog of orders, order intake, analysis of net debt) to Corporate Finance teams.
  • Participate in ad-hoc missions within the finance department.  

Profile

What about you? 

You’ll be a great fit if: 

  • You’re looking for assignments that give you a sense of responsibility and high autonomy. 
  • You have graduated with a master’s degree in accounting/finance and have a first working experience in finance and audit (including internships and/or apprenticeship);
  • You can rely on basic accounting knowledge and a command of Microsoft Excel, (and even SAP ?) to analyze data and guide you through the company’s financial records;
  • You can define yourself through a methodical and analytical mind, and strong interpersonal skills such as open-mindedness, a team-player mind and curiosity; 
  • You show an international mindset which will allow you to enjoy what Canada can offer to the fullest – a previous international experience would be a plus!
  • You speak fluent English;
  • You have your driving license. 

 

Quick Reminder about the VIE program: 

The VIE program requires you to: 

  • Be a European citizen aged between 18 and 28 on the date of registration, whatever training level;  
  • Be a graduate student, with a fluent level in English;  
  • Have never done any V.I.E. in the past ;  
  • Not have worked previously in the host country.
