Position – Principal Systems and Transversal Engineer

 

Location – Home based

 

Travel – Required to visit site in Plymouth once every 3 months

 

Arrangement - Contracted (Inside IR35) or Staff.

 

Salary – Dependent on experience

BPSS clearance will be required at basic level. Prior clearance will not be transferrable.

 

Supporting one of our key clients we are looking for Principal Systems and Transversal Engineer to support the Dock readiness Projects of a nuclear licensed site. This will involve managing a small team, managing the designs of others, and reviewing the designs that are produced so that processes are properly, adequately, and efficiently implemented across the project.

Profile

 

 Responsibilities –

  • Technically manage a team of engineers to identify and update extant Design and Safety Reports to support the justification of safety claims.
  • Provide leadership during the delivery of DRS (Design Safety Reports) updates through the application pf process, domain knowledge and experience.
  • The Principal Systems and Transversal Engineer post will operate as part of the Strategic Infrastructure Business unit.
  • Understanding the technical management of the DRS updates work package resources and delivery.
  •  The checking and review of all technical output from the DSR.
  •  Provide subject matter expert advice related to their specialism.
  •  Plan for the effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the projects technical planning process.

 

Qualifications and Experience of a Principal Systems and Transversal Engineer –

 

  •  Understanding the workings of nuclear license sites.
  • Understanding of civil and structural construction techniques employed by Nuclear Safety related facilities.
  •  Understanding the PRS process

 

 

Desirable experience of a Principal Systems and Transversal Engineer –

 

  • Working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications.
  • Experience of the design support for construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear defence equipment.
  • Knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering activities through design, implementation and operation with a core focus on safety
